Built at the intersection of OT, IT and industrial strategy

2BMobile exists for one reason: most marketing firms don’t understand what a PLC does. We do. And that changes everything about how we help solution providers reach industrial buyers

Why 2BMobile exists

2BMobile LLC helps small and midsize independent software vendors (ISVs), value-added resellers (VARs), and system integrators (SIs) position and market their offerings for manufacturers pursuing Industry 4.0 adoption, Model-Based Enterprise, and digital thread initiatives. We focus on markets where buyers care about traceability, interoperability, model-based product definition, and the reliable flow of engineering, manufacturing, and quality data across the product lifecycle.

Founder Ray Stahl brings more than 30 years of experience in technology marketing, sales, and business development — including direct, on-the-ground exposure to the OT/IT convergence now reshaping manufacturing. As VP of Marketing at KOTEM (Quality Vision International), he led go-to-market for industrial measurement software used in quality inspection, working inside the same aerospace, medical device, and industrial equipment markets driving MBE and QIF adoption today. At Dell Technologies, he served as Senior Advisor for Product Marketing on Microsoft Azure Stack — enterprise IT go-to-market experience at the scale of the very competitors now entering manufacturing technology. He has also been an active participant in the Digital Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC) since 2017, tracking QIF standards development as it reaches critical mass across the industry.

Through product marketing work spanning factory-edge computing and enterprise technology, 2BMobile understands how today’s buyers evaluate MBE and digital thread solutions: not just by features, but by their ability to reduce handoff errors, support standards-based interoperability, preserve data continuity, and create measurable business value across design, production, and quality workflows.

2BMobile helps clients turn complex technical capabilities into market messages that resonate with MBE and digital thread buyers. We help companies clarify where they fit in the connected product data ecosystem, define differentiated value for engineering and manufacturing stakeholders, and build marketing and sales strategies aligned to the priorities driving model-based transformation.

The Market Shift You Can’t Ignore

The competitive landscape is fundamentally changing. Traditional manufacturing technology vendors—those with deep domain expertise in MES, SCADA, automation, and shop floor systems—now face a new wave of formidable competitors entering from the enterprise IT world. These IT giants bring advantages traditional OT vendors have never faced: established enterprise relationships, massive marketing budgets, trusted brand recognition with CFOs and CIOs, and the ability to position manufacturing technology as part of broader digital transformation initiatives.

The question isn’t whether this disruption will happen—it’s already happening. The question is: How will your organization respond?
